The difference was plainly apparent, although I had to keep adjusting the volume to make the comparison. I queued up the same track on BubbleUPnP (on the same tablet). It had the same problem as I observed before (weak volume and hissy). Started up the tablet and connected to MMW from MMA. Started MMW and deleted the device profile for my Nexus 7 You can also set per device settings if you want. The Media Server settings are settings that will allow files to be played on most devices. A Device Profile should reflect the device's native capabilities (not those of installed App which may add additional format support). Lowlander wrote:Also as already explained the Device Profile (for a specific device) is for syncing and the Media Server settings (generic for all UPnP devices) are for UPnP clients. Maybe it would be a good idea to auto-enable flac support, in devices supporting flac, when the device profile is auto-created. I needed to also add flac to the Device Profile for the Nexus, as well as adding flac support generically in the Options|Library|MediaSharing tab as per above. When I download a file from UPnP via BubbleUPnp it comes across as a flac file. My android device (Nexus 7) supports flac. There isn't any Device auto-conversion customisation to any of the devices listed in the Devices tab on the Media Sharing option screen.Īll the checkboxes are unchecked in the Devive Profile Options|AutoConversion screen. (I think that I had to add it using the Set Formats button). And flac shows in the supported audio list on the same tab. I have all of the auto-conversion check boxes unchecked in the MediaSharing|Auto-Conversion tab. Strangely the reported file size is almost exactly the same. Synchronisation has transcoded my flac file to mp3.
